WASHINGTON (Nov. 21, 2014) Sailors from Defense Media Activity receive a briefing from Kate Morrand, archaeological conservator at Naval History and Heritage Command's (NHHC) Underwater Archaeology Branch, on the preservation treatment of a trumpet recovered from USS Houston inside of the Naval History and Heritage Command's laboratory of archaeology and conservation at the Washington Navy Yard. USS Houston was a Northhampton-class heavy cruiser that was sunk off the coast of Indonesia after suffering significant damage in 1942 during World War II.
