Bugler Gillies Monument, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park
Dedicated 1898. James Gillies was a young bugler in Lee's Legion killed by pursuing British cavalry in February 1781 near present-day Oak Ridge. His remains were buried at Bruce's Crossroads (now Summerfield).
