U.S.S. San Francisco, 14-oared cutter

Photo shows ships during the Columbian Naval Review, 1893, in either Hampton Roads or the Hudson River. The ships are the USS San Francisco (C-5) built in 1887 (white ship, upper right); the Italian cruiser GIOVANNI BAUSAN (black ship in the center), and a tugboat (on the left).
