U.S. sailors assigned to the guided missile frigate

U.S. sailors assigned to the guided missile frigate USS Underwood (FFG 36) and Coast Guardsmen assigned to Law Enforcement Detachment 107 recover contraband, Aug. 3, 2012, in the Caribbean Sea during Operation Martillo. The sailors and Coast Guardsmen recovered 49 bales of narcotics dumped from a speed boat into the sea after Underwood sighted and pursued the vessel. Operation Martillo is a joint, interagency and multinational collaborative effort to deny transnational criminal organizations air and maritime access to the littoral regions of the Central American isthmus.
