Summary

This image of the spectators and field at Husky Stadium on the University of Washington campus in Seattle was taken on November 27, 1920 during the first game held at the stadium. This game was also the final game of the 1920 season, which Washington lost 28-7 to Dartmouth. Although the student population at the time was only about 3,000, the U-shaped amphitheater could accommodate 30,000 fans. Husky Stadium replaced Denny Field on the north end of upper campus, the home grounds for the university's football team from 1895 until 1920. The stadium has undergone several expansions and renovations, most recently in 2013.
Construction was managed by Puget Sound Bridge and Dredging Company, a major contributor to the construction of the Pacific Northwest. Many of their projects were documented by noted Seattle photographer Asahel Curtis.
