Summary
Trieste II (DSV-1), the U.S. Navy's deep sea submersible under tow at night. On 26 April 1972 the CIA and U.S. Navy employed Trieste to recover a capsule with film, which was dropped down in 1971 by an American photo-reconnaissance satellite codenamed HEXAGON, from 16,400 feet below the Pacific Ocean.
