TRZEBIEN, Poland – A paratrooper assigned to Company D, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, hands a Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) missile to the TOW gunner during combined exercise Pantera, Sep. 22, 2016 in Trzebien, Poland. The “Sky Soldiers” of D Co., 2nd Bn., 503rd Inf. Regt., on a training rotation in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, joined forces with the Polish 18th Airborne Battalion, 6th Airborne Brigade to demonstrate deterrence capabilities through airborne assault and combined defensive operations. The 173rd Airborne Brigade, based in Vicenza, Italy, is the Army Contingency Response Force in Europe, and is capable of projecting forces to conduct a full range of military operations across the United States European, Central and Africa Command areas of responsibility within 18 hours.
