Third Avenue, ca 1905 (MOHAI 6059)
Summary
This photo was taken between 1903 and 1907. At that time, Third Avenue was lined with homes as well as businesses. Plymouth Congregational Church (right) stood at the corner of Third Avenue and University Street. The Washington Hotel, seen at the far end of Third Avenue (center), stood atop Denny Hill. By 1907, the hotel and much of the hill had been removed in regrading projects.
