Summary
Satire praising the originality, creativity and modernism of Rossini and of the Théatre Italien; Rossini appears youthful and fashionably attired, with rolled sheets of music bursting from his pockets; he stands with legs spread wide apart for balance, arms at shoulder-height and bent at the elbows; his hands and inclined head support three small figures: Manuel del Populo Garcia (as Otello in 'Otello'), Madam Mainville-Fodor (as Rosina) and Pellegrini (as Figaro, in 'The Barber of Seville'); published in 'Le Miroir', 13th August 1821
