The vis-a-vis bisected, or the ladies coop (BM J,5.128)
Summary
The interior of a closed carriage made visible by being bisected longitudinally. In it two young ladies of pleasing appearance sit face to face in profile, apparently on the floor, or on very low seats, to make room for their monstrous mounds of hair. These are decorated with feathers, flowers, vegetables, &c. as in BMSat 5370. One (right) holds a paper inscribed "Pantheon 3d Subscription", the other holds a fan. The roof of the carriage is ornamented with two ducal coronets. 25 May 1776
