The Royal Navy during the Second World War
A landing craft support (rocket) in action on the Solent. The projectiles can be seen in the air on their way to the objective whilst a large cloud of smoke hangs over the landing craft. They were first used off Sicily in 1943 and took a foremost part in every subsequent landing.
