The Royal Navy during the Second World War
A standard 1,000 ihp tug, underway. New "Tid" tugs, short for tiddlers, so called because of their size, were vessels of straight line form, pre-fabricated by construction firms and then taken to a shipyard for assembly. They were usually assembled and launched in 4 1/2 days.
