Summary

Eight pairs of persons in conversation, arranged as in BMSat 8541 above. The boasts of a soldier, a traveller, of a dissenting minister (who says, "I preaches and I knows things, I prophesys and all things comes as I says! the times are dismall and somthing must come to pass") are believed; so are the false vows or threats of lovers (three). The others are a fashionable attorney or banker who says (to his pupil's mother): "I dont get a farthing by the articles, - pon honor!", and an artisan who tells his wife (who has a spinning-wheel) a tall story.
