William Hogarth - Tailpiece, or the bathos
Summary
This print, which was Hogarth's last, was planned to "serve as a Tail-piece to all the Author's engraved works," and was much celebrated as his farewell. Hogarth introduced into his print everything that could denote the end of all things. Near the sign "The World's End" Time expires.
