A monument of medieval Arabic and Persian literature, a collection of fairy tales and short stories framed by the story of the Persian king Shahriyar and his wife Shaherazade (Shahrazade). The first complete printed edition in Arabic, known as the Bulak edition, was published in Cairo in 1835.
