Summary

Cattle on Nindooinbah Station, 1871
Nindooinbah, meaning 'place of ashes' in the Aboriginal Wangerriburra dialect, was selected by the Lawless brothers in 1842. It was one of the first properties taken up in the Beaudesert district. The original house which arose beside the Albert River was erected in the 1850s. It was extended in 1908 by the architect, Robin Dods. (Description supplied with photograph). Here, cattle are seen grazing near the water's edge, with the homestead visible in the background.
