Summary

3,551 GRT cargo steamship Kaitoke in port. Sir Raylton Dixon & Co of Middlesbrough, England, built her in 1918 as War Palace. In 1919 she was renamed Cape Colony. Union SS Co of New Zealand bought her in 1920 and named her Kaitoke. In 1935 Chinese owners bought her and her renamed Kong Ho. In 1937 she changed owners and was renamed Tai Yang. In 1938 she was taken over by the Japanese company Sakamoto Shoji and named Seitai Maru. In 1943 the US Navy submarine USS Plunger sank her in the Sea of Okhotsk.
