Souvenir postcard of the German Democratic Republic; 1985; commemorative postcard to the topic "75 years of the first motor flight over Berlin"; A such flight took place during the "Internationale Flugwoche", from 10 May 1910 until 16 May 1910 date QS:P,+1910-05-00T00:00:00Z/10,P580,+1910-05-10T00:00:00Z/11,P582,+1910-05-16T00:00:00Z/11 at the airfield Berlin-Johannisthal. This first motor flight was performed by the then "Korvettenkapitän" (= "Lieutenant-Commander of the Navy") Paul Engelhard (1868-1911) on an Wright biplane model A1 with a 35 hp NAG/Wright I-4 motor. Paul Engelhard was the then chief pilot of the 1909 founded "Flugmaschine Wright GmbH" in Berlin-Johannisthal (bankruptcy in 1914).; The additional motive of this postcard shows this Wright-airplane over the "Deutsche Staatsoper" in Berlin-Mitte, Unter-den-Linden.; The postcard is franked with a definitive stamp of the GDR, Michel No. 1868v from 1973 (small format, photogravure).; The stamp is postmarked with an one-circle special postmark from Berlin, 23 May 1985 with 40.0 mm diameter showing an Wright airplane type A1 as central motive. The first motor flight airplane was purchased in 1912 by the then Berlin publicist and publisher August Scherl and is contemporary in possession of the "Deutsches Museum München" (exhibited...?).
