Johann Heinrich Schmidt, also known as Heinrich Schmidt or Johann Heinrich Schmid, was a German painter who was born in 1749 and died in 1829. He was known for his landscape and genre paintings, often depicting scenes of rural life. Schmidt was active in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, a period marked by significant developments in European art, including the transition from the Baroque to the Neoclassical style. Although not as widely recognised as some of the other artists of his time, Schmidt's depictions of everyday life and natural landscapes contributed to the artistic landscape of his era.
