Manta, Ecuador (Aug. 14, 2006) Sailors from the U.S. Navy frigate USS Halyburton (FFG 40) and destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) paint the entire exterior of the Jorge Washington School during their community relations (COMREL) project in Manta, Ecuador. More than 20 Sailors from Chile, Colombia, Peru and United States participated in the project, refurbishing most of the interior and exterior of the buildings. This multinational force is participating in UNITAS 47-06 Pacific phase, a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored exercise that enhances friendly, mutual cooperation and understanding between participating navies by enhancing interoperability in naval operations among the nations.
