Summary

Satire suggesting that Louis of Baden, commander of the Imperial army, has been bribed by Louis XIV. The prince, wearing an elaborate feathered hat and a medal around his neck, sleeps on a chair beside a table on which are coins and bags of money; a strong box rests on the floor on the right and further money-bags hang on the wall behind to the left. To the right, is a view of a citadel on a hill, and at lower left, a scene of battle. The sun of Louis XIV shines on the scene from top right.
