Ferri joined several Pearl Harbor Survivors, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and Rear Adm. Clifford S. Sharpe, commander, Naval Service Training Command for the Mayor and City of Chicago's 19th Annual Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The event, organized by the Chicago Commission on Human Relations Advisory Council on Veterans Affairs and the Mayor's Office of Special Events, also included veterans and representatives from the Veteran's Administration and current military service members station at Great Lakes Naval Station.
