Parade grounds and barracks - Charleston, Boston Mass.
Summary
Parade grounds and barracks. "There are but 30 marines quartered there at present, sufficient for the duties of this well regulated establishment." The three-story house at each end of the marine barracks is the residence of an officer and the house beyond the barracks with the double swell front is the residence of Commodore Francis H. Gregory, who has been but a short time at Charlestown but has found a large circle of friends here by urbanity of manner and refined conduct.
