The ship is making its way towards Naval Station Norfolk, Va., to disembark part of her air wing personnel before continuing her journey to her homeport of Mayport, Fla. The first aircraft carrier commissioned into the United States Navy was USS Langley (CV-1) on 20 March 1922.
