Summary
Joseph-Marie-Francois de Lassone, born at Carpentras as Duplessis, was the physician of Queen Marie Leczinska, then of Louis XVI. In 1778, he was appointed to Marie-Antoinette that he attends, nine nights during the delivery of the future Duchess of Angoulême.
Joseph Duplessis (1725–1802) was a French artist who worked in the Rococo and neoclassical styles. His famous portrait of Benjamin Franklin is reproduced on a US hundred dollar bill.
