First published accompanied by verses by Daniel Meisner in 1623 in the Thesaurus Philopoliticus (later known as the Sciographia Cosmica), this work is a fascinating combination of two popular genres - the Emblem Book and the Book of Town Plans. The motto, Alterius Damno Quaeris Lucrum, may be loosely translated as "Another is duped to benefit the greedy"
