Summary

The painting was done by imperial court painter in China's Ming Dynasty. It depicted the 9th generation Ming emperor Xianzong (Chenghua Emperor) was enjoying the great time with families in the Forbidden City during traditional Chinese Lantern Festival. There were lots of interesting activities in the festival such as acrobatics performances, operas, magic shows and setting off firecrackers. The night market decorated with beautiful lanterns was also set in the yard.中文(中国大陆):此画卷出自明代宫廷画师之手。又名《宪宗行乐图》。署成化二十一年(1485)仲冬吉日。所画为明代宫廷模仿民间习俗放爆竹、闹花灯、看杂剧的情景。
这张巨幅画卷描绘了朱见深正月十五在皇宫里庆赏元宵节游玩的各种情景。画面中,从早至晚的各种节目,场面均有宪宗在场,其中演出、杂技、魔术、烟花爆竹及整山灯市等场面恢宏。画中,还有在宫内设街市,模仿民间习俗放爆竹、闹花灯、看杂的情景。图中身着便服的朱见深坐在殿前围帐中,侍臣们立于两旁,殿上悬有彩灯,一派繁华。
