Merchant marine seaman given military funeral. Merchant honor guards removed the Stars and Stripes from the casket of Herman Sweitzer, one of the merchant marine heroes who was given a full military funeral following the collision of the ammunition ship and tanker off Norfolk. Sweitzer's home was at 501 North Monroe Street, Baltimore
