Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Quarters I-T, Cedar Avenue, west side between Tenth & Walnut Streets, Vallejo, Solano County, CA

description

Summary

Significance: Building I-T is a contributing element of the Mare Island Historic District. Building I-T (Quarters I-T) is highly significant architecturally as a somewhat unusual expression of the Colonial Revival architectural program developed by R.C. Hollyday for the "Captains' Row" group of homes on Walnut Avenue. Quarters I-T was built at the same time as the other homes and shares many elements with them, including its interior detailing. It is unusual in that it was built away from Captains' Row and that it is a duplex.

This is another AI-assisted collection, this time it features 20K+ images of manors. A manor is a large country house with lands, the principal house of a landed (country) estate. This collection took about 15 minutes to make, including adding about 18,000 relevant images as "manors" and removing portraits of people with "Manor" last names. Of course, image recognition was already done before and that process required much much longer time and machine resources.
