Fig. 1. shows three-legged trestles, two of whichare required for the support of a single transom ; to make them,it is best to lash two legs together by a sheer Ipshing, open themout, and then add the third leg or prypole (see Fig. 2) ; thetrestle must t en be up-ended, the feet placed on the angles ofan equilateral triangle with sides of about half the height, andthr^e light ledgers attached.
