Manhattan est imaginé rempli de gratte-ciel, certains atteignant une centaine d'étages ; des paquebots et de grands dirigeables assurent le transport de biens et de personnes. Le "New York World" était alors un journal richement illustré et très lu aux Etats-Unis.

Manhattan is imagined filled with skyscrapers, some reaching a hundred stories; ocean liners and large airships ensure the transport of goods and people. The "New York World" was then a richly illustrated and widely read newspaper in the United States.
