NEW ORLEANS (Nov. 18, 2010) Lou Gavin, a retired Coast Guardsman and member of the Louisiana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, stands with active duty Coast Guardsman during the playing of Semper Paratus, the Coast Guard service song, in the New Orleans City Council's chambers on Military Appreciation Day in New Orleans. The city council and New Orleans Mayor's Military Advisory Committee hold an annual military appreciation day in the city, in which senior representatives from local military services brief the council on their activities and community service from that year while being broadcasted on a local television station.
