Letter from Charles Savile Roundell, [London, England], to Thomas Bayley Potter, 15 July 1867
Summary
Charles Savile Roundell informs Thomas Bayley Potter of his assent to "gladly serve" on the committee of the Cobden Club, and notes his keen interest in the position. Roundell requests that Potter oblige him by informing William Lloyd Garrison of Roundell's promise to compose a paper on the "free labour question" in the British West Indies for the upcoming Parisian Anti-Slavery Conference, and asks that Garrison supply him with any publications on the matter to bolster his arguments. Roundell informs Potter of his desire to inform himself on the "practicability" of an "immigration on a considerable scale of the Black population from America to Jamaica".
