The Pax Airship of Augusto Sévéro, which caused his death
Postcard featuring a hand-drawn illustrated depiction of the semi-rigid airship "Pax" flown by Brazilian aeronaut Augusto Severo de Albuquerque Maranhão (1864-1902) and French mechanic Georges Saché over Paris on May 12, 1902. Propelled by an internal combustion engine, the airship caught fire and crashed, killing both men.
