Lava fjelds in Iceland - Public domain scan / drawing
Summary
Drawing shows two men on horseback picking their way across lava stone in Iceland. The "way-marks," as Taylor has labeled them, are large rock cairns that identify the route. Taylor visited Iceland in 1862, perhaps en route to Russia.
