Off the coast of Qatar (Mar. 28, 2004) Landing Craft Utility 1654 (LCU 1654) backs away from the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) after loading U.S. Marines assigned to 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (22nd MEU) Special Operations Capable (SOC). The LCU 1654 is assigned to the amphibious transport ship USS Shreveport (LPD 12). The Marines are off-loading in support of their mission in the 5th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR).
