Summary
Satire on contemporary politics: a strolling minstrel plays a pipe and tambour while behind him a chained and muzzled bear wearing the cap of liberty (representing the Revolution) is kept in captivity by a monkey with drawn sword in uniform (representing the army); at the right two performing dogs dressed as an Incroyable and Merveilleuse (representing the Counter-Revolution) dance together. March 1797
