GALVESTON, Texas (Jun. 09, 2007) Just hours before her commissioning, the newest Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd sits pierside at the Port of Galveston. Designated hull number DDG 100, the new destroyer honors Medal of Honor recipient Rear Adm. Isaac Campbell Kidd Sr. who was killed on the bridge of his flagship USS Arizona on Dec. 7, 1941.
