Summary
Jervoise Clarke-Jervoise (1734-1808), the first to use the name Clarke-Jervoise. He was born Jervoise Clarke, and added his maternal grandfather's surname Jervoise in 1777. He was a longstanding MP for Southampton and Newport and the Isle of Wight. Painting was previously thought to be by Zoffany.
