A notice in The Tribune of November 27, 1903, states that the group met on the second Thursday of each month in the Masonic Building (the Clement Block ( deserontoarchives/tags/clementblock/ ) )...A John Elliott was living in Deseronto in 1901. He was born in urban Ontario on December 19, 1883, of Scottish descent. He was living with his widowed mother, Harriett (born Sep 2, 1847) and siblings Agnes E. (born Sep 2, 1872), a teacher, May (born Aug 25, 1874) and Fred (born Sep 23, 1880), a book-keeper. All were born in Ontario. Also living with them was Sarah Edgar, Harriett's unmarried sister, who was born in Scotland on January 11, 1836 and who came to Canada in 1840. ..Agnes was earning $325, Fred $360 and John $192.
