Nonell was a member of the Modernisme movement in Catalonia, which was a cultural movement that emerged in the late 19th century and was characterized by a renewed interest in Catalan culture and a rejection of traditional styles. Nonell died at a young age of 38 due to tuberculosis, but his legacy continues to inspire and influence artists today.
