Vincenzo Irolli (1860-1949) was an Italian painter associated with the Impressionist and Divisionist movements. He was born on 11 August 1860 in Naples, Italy, and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. Irolli's early works were influenced by the naturalistic style, but he later adopted the Divisionist technique, which involved applying small, distinct dots or strokes of colour that optically merged when viewed from a distance. This technique was popular with artists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was associated with the wider pointillist movement. Irolli became known for his depictions of landscapes, urban scenes and genre paintings, often capturing scenes of everyday life. His use of colour and light reflected the influence of Impressionism, while his use of Divisionist technique added a unique touch to his work. Throughout his career, Vincenzo Irolli exhibited his paintings in various Italian cities and took part in national and international exhibitions. He also worked as a teacher and was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. Vincenzo Irolli died on 30 November 1949, leaving behind a body of work that contributed to the rich tapestry of Italian art of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
