flashes, with headacheand dizziness. She was instructed to take thyroid extract. October 5, 1918. The patient reported in person today. She nowweighs 267 pounds. She has not taken the thyroid extract verypersistently. The thyroid gland is somewhat decreased in size. Herhands still have the typical appearance of myxedema. She wasdirected to take large doses of thyroid extract, and was also giveniodine. She was requested to report each month, so that we couldbe advised as to her condition. November 1, 1918. The patient reported that she had lost 10pounds and was feeling better. His motherhad died of intestinal cancer in middle life. For the past year hehad suffered from intestinal cramps, but had kept at his work untilthe past two weeks.
