Image reproduced in John Kemble's book, "San Francisco Bay: A Pictorial Maritime History," p. 62, with the following information: "A schooner under construction and one being repaired as well as a third lying in the mud at low tide are shown in this picture. This region was known as South San Francisco at the time of the picture...Long Bridge is shown traversing the shallow waters of the bay which has since been filled in to form the Potrero District."
