Hotel Wentworth, New Castle, N.H.
Summary
Postcard sent by newspaper correspondent Edmund Noble to his wife, Lydia. Text reads: Hotel Wentworth. Aug. 30, 1905. Dear Ma. Have been exceedingly busy since writing last, as you will have observed from this morning's Herald. Unnecessary to repeat the news there [...]. Up to the present, it seems that I may remain here until the treaty is signed - that is, five or six days longer. Last night on account of the peace, there was plenty of "fun" among the newspaper correspondents. The envoys now have more leisure than before. The Russians kissed each other yesterday afternoon when the news of peace reached them. Today is spent by everybody in getting autographs. I have some with pictures which Lilly shall receive when I reach home. Trust she and all are well. With love, Edmund.
