This photographic postcard features an image of the Yarra River with recreational rowing boats, spectators lining river banks and houseboats sailing. The postcard is tinted purple. In the foreground two men can be seen wearing pirate costumes, a sign attached to their boat reads: "Essential Sunday/ 25th October". The reverse contains a hand written letter addressed to: "Esther" and makes reference to the food being "the best you would/ get anywhere". The postcard is marked printed in Germany on the reverse bottom left.
