Hans Andersen Brendekilde - Sommerdag i Jyllinge med to piger - 1922
Summary
Hans Andersen Brendekilde (1857–1942) was a realist painter, but furthermore, he is one of the few impressionistic painters in Denmark. Later in life, he became more and more aware of the idyllic sides of life in the countryside, painting people, children, and flowers. He built a big house in Jyllinge and grew more than 3000 species of flowers in his famous garden, which in many ways reminds one of Claude Monet's garden in Giverny.
