The Seattle, Lakeshore & Eastern Railway extended from the waterfront along the northern shore of Lake Union and then to the north side of Lake Washington, eventually reaching Snoqualmie Falls. In this photo, a group of investors inspect the progress of the line on the way to Woodinville. Colonel A. B. Rogers stands in the center foreground with white beard and dark hat, and Thomas Burke is the gentleman in light hat to the left of Rogers.
