Gigantic Flowers, Exquisite New Colors, Magnificent Foliage. It is a longtime since the introduction of any flower has created the sensation that The New Grand Imperial Japanese Horning Glory has. Few flower-lovers are aware of the wonderful developments that have been made in this flower by those patient and fanciful gardeners, the Japa- nese. The surpassing charm of these New Grand Imperial Japanese Morning Glories lies in the en- trancing beauty and gigantic size of the flowers; they measure from four to six inches across, and their greater substance causes them to remain open much longer than ordinary Morning Glories. The colors of the flowers, shadings and mark= ings are limitless, and are really wonders of nature, of such incomparable beauty that de- scriptions are inadequate. Wherever climbers can be grown these should have a prominent place. Some flowers are of deep, rich velvety tones, others more daintily tinted and shaded than an artist's brush could portray. The solid colors range through reds from s@ft rose to crimson, bronze and garnet maroon; from daintiest light blue to ultramarine indigo and blackish purple; from snow white to cream and silver gray; some are striped, starred and spotted; others have magnificent edges and throats. The double-flowering sorts are superb and must be seen to be appreciated to their full value. I have tried to write about them as they really are; but words will not describe the wondrous beauty of the flowers. Perhaps the following description, taken from the catalogue of one of the largest growers of the seed, will prove not only interesting to you, but may give you a true idea of just what The New Grand Imperial Japanese Morning Glories are. "To begin to describe the colors, shadings, hues, combinations of colors, variations in markings, would be impossible. Indeed, the beauty and variations are indescribable, and can only be appreciated when seen. One vine will bear blossoms so different that it would seem impossible. As to size and markings of blooms my seed will produce, I will simply say that none of the colored plates in seedsmen's catalogues, that I have ever seen, begins to equal them." "The foliage also varies in shape, as well as color, latter being from dark green through all shades of green to light yellow, some being variegated with whitish and yellowish green on darker ground. My stock seed was selected by going in person and gathering 10 to 15 seeds from each of the thousands of vines and mixing the whole. This will, I believe, give me the best stock and largest variation in shapes, hues and colors that the world can now show ; and superior to any one stock grown anywhere; for the thousands of vines growing together must have hybridized and will cause all the more curious and freakish markings besides bringing forth still more innumerable shades of color." New Grand Imperial JAPANESE MORNING GLORY SEED. Superb Mixture. My special mixture of all the very best double and single flower= ing sorts — a grand assortment. Price, Per Large Packet, 15 Cents; 2 Packets for 25 Cents ; 10 Packets for $ 1.00 Ounce, $1.00. 12
