Theophile Alexandre Steinlen - Dans la tranchée, 1915

During the second half of 1915, Steinlen focused on the soldiers of the war. He considered them the "workers" of the war and of victory. He often depicted them with helmet, baton, and smoking a pipe or cigarette.
